ASDI Mission Statement
The Nonprofit, Social Action for Integrated Development , acronym SIDA , is a non- governmental development organization operating under the laws governing non-governmental organizations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
SIDA was created at the initiative of Judith Yolo Mpia Botamba . She has always had a goal to work within a framework that can help the poorest and most vulnerable people in the society . After being involved in several other charity organizations, she thought better in order for he to act and be more effective, by creating an association in which it can achieve her vision and implement her ambitions.
Judith Yolo is a professional in the field of the protection and welfare and thereby felt strongly the desire to care for elderly people .
The idea was forged and matured to the point of sharing with loved ones and friends who encouraged her to pursue her dream, which led her to found Social Action for Development.
Surrounded by an efficient and practical team, Judith Yolo thinks of her vocation as a light that illuminates many who are in the darkness of oblivion and poverty to provide them with some aid and comfort .
Judith Yolo also followed and participated in training and capacity building workshops on how to management an NGO , the principles of Sustainable Development and Good Governance.
ACTIVITIES
The first Constitutive and Elective General Assembly took place on January 25, 2013, establishing the founding acts of ASDI. The Management Committee was elected with a mandate and specific missions.
Since its inception, ASDI began by addressing critical issues relating to the survival of vulnerable populations.
1. The access to drinking clean and potable water in the province of Bas-Congo.
2. Capacity building of youth in the protection and prevention of sexually under the Youth Operational Programme (YOP) entitled "Best Horizons".
PROJECTS
SIDA has developed several projects to contribute to its objectives as assigned by the General Assembly.
1. The building of a center for recovery and support for the elderly. Project cost: $ 235,000
2. Sida has initiated a project to build a training center for youth protection. Project cost: $ 338,000
3. ASDI has undertaken a reforestation project to fight against global warming and Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) by planting fast-growing trees on a surface of more than 5 hectares. Project Cost: $ 1,575,000
